Hi everyone,

Over the past year or so, I have awakened to the truth about the corrupt, greedy, manipulative world we live in that is run with power and worthless monetary values. I have become angry, and I have become more aware of the incessant greed of everyone around me, and I feel sad. I never noticed it before. I too used to be consumed by the same evils that consume my friends and family to this day, but I have realized that is not the way to a happy, healthy life.

I was raised a Catholic and went to Catholic school all the way up until grade 12. But I never identified with my Religion, I was never excited to be a part of it, and I didn’t feel a connection with it.

I was too needy and wanting things that didn’t matter that I was so distracted and unaware of the simplicity and happiness that could be found within my Self.

It is only now I have really come to this realization. I have read a lot of stuff online, explored different avenues of spirituality, and I believe now that there is a higher power, the ONE Creator. I am hesitant to label this creator, as I feel that can put a more Religious spin on what I believe, when all I am doing is really searching for Spirituality. Anything to make me believe that ‘who I Am’ is not who I have been brought up to believe I am throughout my life.

I WANT to learn who I Am, I want to feel the energy forces of my inner being, to be happy and content and live life in the moment.

Which is why I’ve now turned to meditation. Taking a few minutes out of each day to recognize the connection within myself seems like such a small cost for a big return. If we can’t take a few minutes out of our day, then we are not living at all. We are zombies and we will not stop until we have more, and more and more until the realization hits that ‘having more’ does not make one truly fulfilled. I want to rid myself of my ego and become one with my Soul.

I hope this doesn’t sound crazy, this is all just very new to me and I am trying to sort everything out.

Anyway, I am excited to start this journey, and hopefully I can make some supportive, encouraging friends to turn to along the way.

Dear Heather,

actually what you are saying makes a lot of sense, we are so much into our daily busy lives, running around for more and more stuff, and then at some point we just stop and realize that none of that gives us true satisfaction or makes us a better person. And we just feel that there should be something more to it.

It’s great that you have found this meditation, for many of us it has given so much more than what we hoping for. It works on so many levels, the bottom line being our Self that becomes connected to the universal energy, and as we glow in that connection, we become more and more aware, that knowledge that is needed comes from the inside, the balance is established, and joy becomes the “normal” feeling, rather than the frustrations of the daily life.

So I want to wish you a nice journey, please stay in touch as you are doing the online course, and please don’t hesitate to post if you have any questions or comments.
