I have been a practitioner of Sahaja Meditation for over a year. During this time I have noticed positive changes in my personality that I feel are a direct result of my meditation. I am forever grateful to Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi and the dedicated practitioners of Sahaja Meditation for sharing this wisdom with the world. I meditate for at least 20 minutes twice a day (mornings/evenings), this includes 1.raising kundalini 2.putting on bandan 3. clearing ida nadi and pingala nadi at the beginning of each session. I begin meditating sometimes with music sometimes without depending on my mood. I close each session by raising kundalini and putting on bandan. For the past 2 months i have been experiencing a tingeling feeling on the top of my head slightly behind my hairline to the middle fo my crown. The odd thing is I dont really experience it while I am meditating. It usually occurs when im driving, reading, about to eat and yes, as I write this post. I dont panic about it i just go with the flow. I am curious as to what im experiencing and if its common.

Peace & Love,
D

Dear friend,
Nice to hear that Sahaja yoga meditation has been working for you so far! :)
It seems that with time the Kundalini energy starts clearing our deeper and deeper layers of our being – so sometimes things that were not there at the beginning, or were not really felt before start coming to the surface and might require some additional treatment… Have you been doing footsoak? If not, that is one of the things that is good to do every day (I usually do it right before the evening meditation, and occasionally also before the morning meditation), and it really does wonders in taking out all kinds of stuff from our systems. Another thing you can do about once a week it to rub your scalp with oil, give yourself a nice head massage with oil – you can ask yogis in your area, they will show you how to do this and will let you know what oil to use (some are more suitable for certain climate and season than others), how to vibrate it before use, etc…
Now, about that particular spot, we do have projections of all our chakras on our scalp (similarly like we have them in our hands, feet and limbs), but the projections on the scalp are in a way more important – they are all integrated into the Sahastrara chakra, so when it is fully open, it enlightens also all our every centre and the energy is flowing freely through the whole top of the head. If you feel the tingling there, then just as you would feel it in your fingertips, it indicates an imbalance or obstruction that might be preventing the free flow of the energy through that particular energy centre. From what you are describing, it seems like the projection of right Nabhi, so you might want to pay a bit more attention to that particular centre, cool down a liver a bit, things like that (besides the oil head rub, that should be quite helpful).
Hope this works, and please let us know if you have any more questions.
Sincerely,
Mar’yana

Thank you Mar’yana for your timely reply. I haven’t tried the footsoak yet, but i will ad it to my evening session. Im located in the southeastern part of the U.S. just outside of Kissimmee, Florida. The climate here is hot and humid. I searched for the nearest Sahaja meditation meetup and found that it is in Tampa, Fl about 1 hour drive west of where i live. They have their meetings on saturday so I will try to make the next one. Im curious to find out if the oil rub will help.

Peace and Love,
D

Excellent, hope you enjoy – the yogis in Florida are really amazingly nice and competent people.
