I found this site today and I’m very excited to start the course.
However, I’ve been doing yoga physical exercises for the past years (positions such as the tree, fish, cobra, triangle, lion etcetera not sure which yoga technique it all represent think it’s hatha-yoga) and was wondering whether it is compatible with the meditation course I am about to start,. To do both at the same time.

I also have a question, is it necessary to have absolute silence at the place you are meditating?

I would say, the physical exercises (including physical yoga) probably will not interfere with the meditation, unless you are overdoing them, in which case they might put you too much to the right. So if the exercises you are doing are “moderate”, I would say, do not worry about it for now, and with time, as you develop you meditative skills and awareness you will be able to tell yourself whether they are helping or not, or if they are for some reason creating imbalances rather than removing them.
