Hi!
I just started the online course, which my mother highly recommended. I suffer from poor concentration and focus and have always had excuse of work and no time. lately some circumstances have made me realize the importance of “connecting”
I had few years back done a course on Reiki and experience the same thing as i did while meditating today. A warmth..like a heat wave emanates from my right palm and even now its still warm. what can be the reason?
Secondly the written instructions above the tab for guided instructions, are to be followed before the guided meditation? (the one where one has to place ones hand over the head) and the class 1 guided meditation talks of placing the palms on the floor at the…does it mean in the front or the sides?
Sorry for asking too basic a questions. I get confused and then am not able to concentrate properly.
Thanks
Mandeep

Dear Mandeep,

the reason for the heat wave is the heat that you have stored inside and that needs to come out. When one is completely balanced and in harmony within, a nice fresh flow of vibrations or cool breeze can be felt.

All the tabs can be done separately or one after the other in the order that is of good fit for you. The guided meditations can be done separately without any problem.

You hands can be placed on the side, whether you are sitting down or on a chair, you can just drop both hands towards the ground. Placing your hand above your head is simply to feel the cool breeze again, flowing from the very center of your head.

Just to stress one point out here, Sahaja Yoga is all about going completely blank, a total absence of thoughts, therefore no concentration on anything in particular but rather the surrender of your mind to peace and harmony.

Kind regards,
Erwan

Thank You Erwan! Really appreciate your stress upon absence of thought…guess it will take some time. But unlike earlier attempts (diff sys) I dont get stressed thinking about meditation, I in fact look forward to it…since it does not have long list of do’d and donts.
May I bother your with few more queries?
As soon as I concentrate on my breath it goes irregular!! and my heartbeats increase. I have to make an effort to regulate it. is it normal?

In one of the techniques mentioned to enable thoughtlessness…it is suggested to focus on top of the head…but how? by looking from inside or outside? Then one is not required to concentrate on the breath…i know I am not to think too much…but I have just too many thoughts….need help to blank my mind out.
Looking forward for your reply
Warm Regards
Mandeep

Dear Mandeep,

by meditating, your breathing should slowly naturally reduce, without effort, that is the whole point of the meditation, to be effortless. Now if your heartbeat increases it may just be due to some physical issues…If it get worse, don’t hesitate to go and see a doctor, that may be of help.

When Kundalini pierces through your last chakra also known as Sahasrara, the “attention” starts, meaning the ability to remain thoughtless and to be at peace and completely centered whatever you do. You become like an observer of your own mind and body and thus become the Spirit, detached.

Try those links below:

Thanks once again Erwan. One more question…now that i try and meditate every day (almost)…my focus automatically goes to the area between the eyebrows, where even when with closed eyes i feel sensation of yellow light and a warm sensation … what can that mean? should i try and take my mind away from it?…  and try and concentrate on top of the head?

Dear Mandeep,

the point between the eyebrows is called as Hamsa chakra which gives you the ability to discriminate between what’s good or bad on a personal level as well as a more collective level.

The yellow light may be coming from the back of your head called as back agnya, and therefore your left side. Use a candle behind your head to clear it out, without burning yourself :).

Just like any other chakra, it means that something is clearing out at this chakra’s level, you can meditate on it and ask your Kundalini to clear it out. You can also put ghee in your nose, head tilted towards the floor while laying down on your back. That will nicely clear this chakra out.

Let us know how it goes :)
