Dear friend,

Welcome to our course! Sahaja yoga meditations has helped many of us with all kinds of health and mental probems, so it might work well for you too – just try and see how it goes :).

About doing many different things all at the same time – you said it, it’s just too much of all kinds of things mixed together. Our subtle system is an extremely delicate and sensitive mechanism, it works perfectly on its own if it is properly fine-tuned, and yet we put it under so much pressure, smash it with so many different things, expose it to so much garbage without even realizing it, that sometimes it can barely survive, and keeps collapsing here and there. To use a metaphore, if we are having a headache, and go into someone else’s medicine cabinet, mix together everything that is there and take it all at once – not only will in not help, it might also kill us.

So, normally, what we suggest to people who are starting with our course is not to do many different things at the same time. In fact, it would be great to have a sort of spiritual-energetic detox, and stop doing everything that you have been doing up till now, if you can. Take some time (2-4 weeks, or however long seems reasonable to you), and only do sahaja yoga for that period of time, nothing else. Then you will be able to see, whether it is working for you, and if it does – then you can continue, if it does not – you can stop and try something else.

Once your system clears out a bit (it normally does after a few weeks or months of regular Sahaj yoga meditation), especially if you start feeling “vibrations” (the sensations on hand and above the head), your will be able to determine much better yourself, which things are benefitial to you, and which are harmful. So you can experiment at that point and figure out whether to use any additional methods or not…

Hope this answer was helpful, and wish you good experiences with our online course and a fast recovery!

Sincerely,

Mar’yana

Good Morning,

I have been trying to meditate for years and I have finally found a site that is very details for beginners. It has been enlightening for me I just started last night and it was great.  I have one question, I kind of stumbled on slowing down my breathing, I started focusing on that because I wasn’t sure I was doing it correctly.  Can someone tell me how to do it or how it feels to give me an idea.

Thanks

Addie

Hi Addie,

I am glad you had a good experience with meditation. Were you doing the meditation from this site, or from another? I am not sure which breathing exercises you are speaking about.  I would recommend trying the online meditation from our site, which can be found here: http://www.onlinemeditation.org/

The course includes clear, simple instructions for guided meditations and are easy to follow along so it would be a great place for you to start.

All the best, and please let us know if you have questions as you go through it.

Sarah

Thanks Sarah

Yes. I just started with this site, in class 1 listening to the audio the breathing slowing.  I think it is just me anyway, everytime I here to slow down the breathing I automatic start to either think I am breathing faster or  I just do it., I am not sure.  I will keep trying…..though.  Thanks

Hi Addie,

Yes, don’t worry too much as you go along if you are doing it exactly right. Just try to follow along and relax.

Enjoy!
