Hi, my names Caroline and I am 36 almost and from the UK.

I have had an interest in Meditation for years and have wanted to take it up for years but never seemed to quite find the right moment. I bookmarked Sahaja Meditation a few months back always ‘meaning’ to start and finally did today and I had an experience whilst doing the Meditation.

It wasn’t the guided one,it was the first one where you use your hands and follow the breath. I know that this came from deep within me,but I heard myself say “Please clear me of my Temper”…and I meant it with, I guess, all my soul and i believe that’s where it came from-my soul as the most immediate of things that needs to be worked on.

So I am glad to be here and on this journey with like-minded folk on the same path as each other.

I wish you all well xx

smile I am totally amazed by what has happened today on my 2nd meditation.

Mar`yana you were right!

I had been having thoughts about leaving one of my jobs because it is not making me happy, I am getting very little and seldom thanks for the hard work I put in and I have had enough. I wrote to one person to get their advice but they haven’t replied yet.  So while I was doing the self meditation again, after a few minutes I began to cry, but they were tears of resolution and of truth. I had my answer as to what I needed to do about this job and it came to me through my tears smile

I am astounded what effect this meditation is having on me.  I don’t need my friends advice now as I have the answer which was all along inside me smile I’m amazed, even though it hurt to reach the conclusion I did, but I am glad It came out! smile

Caroline xx

Hello Mar`yana,

It is Caroline here-I am under my other log in name where I get the classes sent to me.

I hope you are well.

I wanted to ask. I have just done class 3 and the Kundalini awakening and followed the class as directed with eyes closed and asked all the right questions and so forth, but at the end when asked to hover our hands above our head, all I felt was not a cool breeze but an intense heat-what does this mean?  Do I need to do the experience again?

I eagerly await your reply,

Warm wishes,Caroline x

Dear Caroline,

It is quite common to feel heat instead of coll breeze at the beginning of practicing Sahaja yoga meditation. The heat id a sign that there are some imbalances in your system, which create obstructions on the upward path of your Kundalini energy. When the Kundalini is squeezing through them, she starts working to clear them out, and to bring the system back into balance, the heat is the result of Kundalini working in these imperfect conditions.

You can repeat the experience a couple times in the next day or two and see whether your sensations improve, whether start feeling more coolness and less heat the next time. In general, these sensations (we call them vibrations) keep improving, clearing out and strenghthening if you meditate regurarly, because when you are in meditation (in thoughtless state), your Kundalini is mosft effective in cleaning out and balancing your system. You will notice eventually, that the initial heat and tingling often disappears and gives way to the cool breeze after some time in thoughtless state, or after a particular affirmation, or after a clearing technique (like footsoak). So all these things are still there for you to discover smile

Please continue with the course, and do not hesitate to ask more questions as they arise smile

Sincerely,

Mar’yana

Hello Mar`yana,

I hope you are well.

I wish to share my 5th class experience with you to help me understand the feelings I was experiencing.

So far I have just listened to the first part of class 5-the video, and I followed the practice and I had some very different experiences.

When prompted to sit comfortably with feet bare and apart and the hands on the lap facing upwards, immediately I felt a cool breeze on both of my palms as I sat. As it went on,the whole of the top part or top half of my head was tingling for quite some time. Then when asked to put the hands on the lower and upper parts of the abdomen to repeat the phrases, as I pressed hard in each spot I felt a pulsating/throbbing,I have never felt this before.  Then I placed my right palm over the top of my head, just to see if I am feeling the cool breeze yet, but I felt nothing. Yet when I put my left palm above my head, I felt the cool breeze. Please help me understand what is happening and if I am indeed making progress.

With much love, Caroline x

Dear Caroline,

I’m doing great, thank you! smile

You are starting to feel the cool breeze, that’s very good, it is definitely a sign of progress compared to just feeling heat. As you feel more of it, you will notice, that the more of the cool breeze you feel, the deeper the state of wellbeing you experience, and also the easier it is to reach meditation, that is, thoughtless awareness.

Now, about other sensations – our Kundalini is a living energy, the working of the Kundalini is a living process which grows and shifts to whrever it is needed most at the time. So the sensations you are feeling during the “class” or during meditation might change depending on what your Kundalini is working out at the time, and also depending of how your state changes, how your attention shifts. Tingling, or throbbing, or heat are indications of your Kundalini removing imbalances from your body. I don’t know whether you felt it, but often you will feel this tingling or throbbing, and then after some time meditation or after some affirmation, you will feel the obstruction actually clearing out, as the throbbing or tingling disappears.

The perfact balance is if we feel the even cool breeze in both hands and above the head. If you feel more in one hand than the other, or with one hand than the other, that means there are still some imbalances in the system, which is quite normal.

Since you are doing class 5, it’s a good time to try out the footsoaking technique. It is very simple, but extremely effective, and we all do it daily, mostly at the beginning of the evening meditation (though it can be done at different times). Here it is: http://www.onlinemeditation.or…..soaking-1/ Try it for a few days and see whether you feel any difference.

Looking forward to hearing from you again smile

All the best –

Mar’yana

Dear Mar`yana,

How are you?  I hope you are well.

Hello Atarsi, I am glad that you are finding Mar`yana’s and myselfs ongoing conversation helpful to you. I wish you well on your journey and please share, if you want to, what experiences you are having, I would be very interested to hear about them x

Mar`yana, I seem to have hit a plateau in my progress. I have just started class 7 today and not much has been happening since around the start of class 6. Is this natural?

In between the morning and evening guided meditations from each class, I have taken it upon myself to just sit and meditate for 15-20 minutes with candles burning and incense burning to just sit cross legged on my bed and meditate, palms upwards just simply focusing on the top of my head. The heat which I was experiencing has gone and I am now feeling the cool breeze and I am much more relaxed and focused within myself, but I still feel like where more can this take me?

I do most certainly intend to finish the course so I am just asking for your guidance, if that is the right word, or rather insight into why I may be feeling this way.

I shall await your reply and thank you for all your help thus far :)  Caroline x

Dear Caroline!

What you are feeling as a plateau might actually be a good thing, not a bad thing. In our society we are conditioned to always look for change, for new exciting things to happen, this is why we as a society are so stressed out, why our attention is so weak, and why we are so restless. Meditation as thoughtless awareness requires that we learn to enjoy silence and stillness, even though in our society we do our best to run away from them. It is in silence and stillness that we can finally “meet” ourselves and see ourselves clearly.

The growth that is achieved through sahaja yoga meditation is a natural living process. In any natural process, there are phases, some of them seem more active when many things are happening, while other seem like nothing is happening (on the outside), but those are the time when the changes achieved before are sedimented into the system, and the preparations are made for the next phase of changes to happen.

Now, you have started feeling the cool breeze – that’s amazing. That means that the imbalances which you needed to clear out at this stage have been removed. Try to establish the changes that you have achieved, try to reach real depth in meditation. This is what will make the changes settle in your system. Otherwise, at the point in the future when your attention will be on working out something else, these imbalances and negative tendencies will come back in no time, and will obstruct the future growth.

You will see very soon, that you will start feeling particular catches in your fingers, which will need to be addressed – as you grow deeper, all kinds of problens that were sitting deep inside will start gradually coming to the surface, and you will have to work them out. Also the problems (imbalances) on the outside – your workplace, your city, etc., will start coming into your attention, and will manifest in your subtle system much more, by clearing them out from your own system you will also see how they will gradually work out outside.

So a lot of things to deal with, to overcome, to learn and understand will come up, but all in due time. In the meantime do not rush, enjoy the cool breeze, see whether you can become thoughtless more and more. See how long you can feel this quiet joy after you finished your meditation. See whether you can maintain this feeling throughout the day.

Will talk to you soon, keep in touch smile

Hello Mar`yana,

I hope that you are well :)

Thank you so much for your recent reply and I want to tell you that the exact things you were talking about have started taking place.

I have always had a problem with forgiveness. It is very deep seated and aimed at a lot of people who have hurt me in the past even as far back as 20 years and also my dear mum and dad who I had to take an emotional and physical distance from in the last 18 months, a total cut off. Well, as I am doing Class 7 on forgiveness, as I meditated I went through people in my mind forgiving them. Even better, I decided to write a nice letter to my parents as the forgiveness practice is taking effect. Up until now all I have felt is anger and unforgiveness towards them so this is a huge step and it’s because of the meditation.

Well something very disturbing happened today. As I sat, I was tired anyway, but I started to have a complete reversal on the past 2 days of forgiveness and I was angry and I started feeling wrath towards all the people that I had been forgiving. Now, in relation to what you were saying, I can see (I had a sleep by the way and have awoken feeling much better) that as I am going deeper into the meditation, what you said in your reply would happen is actually happening. So I am very relieved to have read your post just now (It is just 15 minutes ago I woke up) because you have explained to me why what I experienced earlier happened.

Upon starting this course I had no idea that these things would take place! It’s a great healing tool for me and I have decided to make meditation a part of my life for the rest of my years. The first 36 years have been horendous and I want the next 36 years to be living in harmony and wellness. Since meeting my partner almost 2 years ago, tremendous healing, through his love, have already been taking place and this meditation is an evolutionary part of my healing.

I am beginning to be able to focus my attention much more as I practice. I am feeling ‘lifted’ as I practice and I physically feel this, plus I so look forward to my 3-4 times of meditation daily. The Class meditations am and pm and my 15 minute meditations once or twice a day in between. The feeling of total thoughtlesness is so wonderful, it’s such a ‘break’ away from the constant chatter in the mind. It’s truly wonderful :)

I shall leave it here for now Mar`yana. And any thoughts you have on what I have wrote would be wonderful and I look forward to my continued practice and developement. And thank you so very much for the time you are taking in guiding me through this :)

With much love, Caroline xx

Dear Caroline,

I’m really glad that what I’m explaining makes sense. These negative things in our system are sometimes really stubborn and do not want to go away, but if you are persistant in your meditation, they will have no choice, with time they will become weaker and weaker, and at some point they will have to go.

One suggestion: whenever you are feeling angry, or irritated, or agitated, a footsoak with cooler water should bring you back into balance, also you can try putting ice-pack on the liver: http://www.onlinemeditation.or…../ice-pack/

Also, it’s probably a good time to start looking, which are the closest local programs in your area: http://www.sahajayoga.org.uk/T…..ourse.html

Will talk to you soon! :)
