Heya, people call me Tilly, I’m 17 years old and have weathered a mostly confusing, anguishing, egotistical, narcissistic and illicit substance laced adolescence. I thought I may as well be up straight about that, I’m not in the least trying to flaunt it. That’s just where I’ve come from, a battle of tug and pull with my emotions and what I can see. Ever since I was a child, the Catholic teachings of god never rang true to me, I couldnt imagine an omnipotent man looking over us, expecting us to kneel and have faith whilst so many suffer. Many times I would cry and pray, cry because I felt unworthy and disgusting, not one of ‘gods flock’, for not being baptised and digging the wound deeper grieving the loss of my father at a young age. I guess It all sounds a little silly. I’ve always been looking for something to fill this empty space inside myself, that’s a mission for many of us.

I have only been here for a few days, taking my time on the first class and now sinking my teeth into the second. I can honestly say that I’ve felt improvements, I’ve treated myself to the foot soaks in the evening and I’ve marveled at the vibrations and feelings I get from the videos and the guided meditations. I’m still slightly skeptical as accepting this ‘power’ as a god, although what I have been feeling, feels nothing like ‘religion’ at all. I have been letting a spiritual side of myself grow, and have been pleasantly surprised. I would love to continue and grow my fascination with Sahaja meditation, well. That’s pretty much it, my story. Any pointers?

Much love and peace. :)

Dear Tilly,

Welcome and very nice to meet you! smile

Actually, what you are saying about your past does not sound silly at all. Many of us have gone through similar experiences, of searching, not finding, despearing, and then searching again – not being satisfied with what our society (including religion) had to offer, and knowing that there must be something more to it, but wondering whether it can ever be found.

It sounds like you are doing great with the course so far – at this point taking your time to go through the classes, meditating daily and doing a footsoak is all you need to start establishing your meditative state. Another thing that might be helpful is to make a consious effort to stay in the present, instead of pondering about the past or the future.

The footsoaks will help clear out and balance your system faster, and as you go through the course you will try out other techiques. Once you learn more about yourself and your subtle system (your individual strenghth and weaknesses), you will be able to see yourself what else you need to work on.

Please stay in touch and do not hesitate to ask if any questions arise, or to share your experiences.

Welcome again, and hope to hear from you soon smile

Thank you for the welcome, I am planning to sink my teeth into the third class tomorrow. With this meditation I have brought past fears and emotional debts into my sight.. and am trying to approach my day with a more forgiving attitude.
