Hi,

my 8 yr old son has ADHD and has attention and focus problem. He cannot sit still and complete his task at school and his focus problem is making him behind in his classroom. I work a lot at home with him but nothing helps. He goes for martial arts and swimming for exercise. He is very smart otherwise but his concentration and impulsiveness is worrying me a lot as he is loosing his confidence.

He has speech problem also he cannot express himself. please suggest some step by step yoga for 8 yr old kid. Can it be online? IF we go the centre do they teach yoga to kids also?

please suggest how can i help my kid, doctors says there is no cure to ADHD and he needs medication.

Regards,

Hello,

Meditation can certainly help children with their attention – for specific information on how Sahaja Meditation has helped children with ADHD, please see this link: http://www.freemeditation.com/…..with-adhd/

On this website, there is a great guide for meditation with children. Please see: http://www.freemeditation.com/…..-children/ On the right hand side you will see links for age-specific meditation sessions as well as music for children. Please try them out with your son. You can also choose the ‘music for children’ link, and the songs may help your son to settle into meditation.

It would be most beneficial if you can try part of the online course yourself first. That way, you will be more familiar with the techniques and will be better able to guide your son.

if you are able to attend a local center (please see the location details here: http://www.freemeditation.com/…..n-classes/) then the instructors will be able to help – children are welcome at the programs, but it might be a good idea to call/email ahead to let them know you plan to bring your son.

Best of luck,
Sarah
