Does anyone else cry during meditation?

I have only been practicing for a couple of months. It’s been truly amazing.

Many times during meditation I begin to cry. It is not that I feel sad or have experienced any loss but I get so moved emotionally from the meditation and Shri Mataji’s photo I can’t stop crying. Has anyone else had this experience?

Dear friend,

I did notice, that I became more “soft-hearted” after starting to meditate, and I am mowed when I see or hear about the instanced of great human generosity and manifestations of selflessness and sacrifice, so that my eyes become filled with tears.

Glad to hear you are enjoying meditation it so much :) It can be common for people, especially in the beginning, to feel emotional and to cry…sometimes this is due to clearing of the left energy channel. You will likely find that as you continue to meditate the urge to cry will gradually subside and your emotions will be more balanced. You can keep your right hand on the ground with your left hand open in your lap to help “speed up” the clearing!

Sounds though like you are on the right track. Just continue enjoying your meditations!

Dear Loving Sahaj,

It wonderful to hear some one so excited about the new things they are discovering. I received my self realization exactly a year ago today and I am still excited about the new things I discover daily. When I started meditating I too cried from the overwhelming emotion that filled me each time I meditated. I actually grew up hating to cry believing it was a display of weakness and I became very adapt at hiding my feelings as well as numbing myself to many things. After I began meditating I became very tender hearted and many things touched me profoundly to the point where I couldn’t hold back tears and would cry. With time this overwhelming emotion passed to some extent (I’m still very tender hearted and can cry a lot easier then before ;))but I came to realized that my left side is much more vulnerable then my right side, which is stronger. So this crying was me clearing things out and making things right, but it wasnt only my left side that was clearing out it was also my ego deflating. Everyone is different and has different experiences but if you introspect in your meditation, form the question in your mind and offer it to Shri Mataji and I am sure you’ll find the answer as to why specifically you are becoming so emotional. Enjoy this wonderful path, its only the beginning and give us updates!!!
