Innocence is the main quality of the first chakra, the Mooladhara. It gives us joy without the limitation of conditionings and prejudice, a quality that can be found on small children. This quality diminishes as we grow up and develop a sense of ego and selfish desires. Fortunately this innate innocence is never destroyed and can return to us by practicing Sahaja Yoga. It is like the sun which is obscured by clouds but which shines again after the clouds pass.

At the level of Mooladhara chakra, one can take the following affirmations to enlighten this quality:

Mother Kundalini, please make me innocent as a child.
Mother Kundalini, please enlighten my Mooladhara chakra so that my innocence shines through.

Below is the extract from Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi about the power of innocence:

In this world what is remembered and respected is if people have lived a beautiful life of good character. All these people may have been harmed, may have been killed, but because of their innocence they shine and shine through ages. You can see the life of all great men like that. They are all very simple. They are not deliberating anything. Spontaneous they are in their behaviour. Spontaneous they live.

Nations after nations can be destroyed, but the power of innocence cannot be destroyed. Have faith in that. It can be covered for a time by your ill thoughts or deeds, but if you can take out the clouds away from the sky of innocence, the whole thing becomes so obvious that you have won the whole world. You will be the most successful person in life when you are absolutely innocent and you are looking after your innocence…

When I was in school, I used to go to the library and read about the lives of great men who have created some great things for us, so many of them. And I was so impressed how some of them were so simple, so child-like. For example, Abraham Lincoln, for whom I have tremendous respect, was a man tortured by his wife…Today, all over the world, people know who was Abraham Lincoln. They don’t know his wife.

To be innocent, you can see how your mind works, what it does, how it reacts. This is introspection. The first and the foremost is that you should know how you react to someone. Is it an innocent reaction or it is a vindictive reaction?

If you worship your innocence, then you will be always a happy person, always a kind person, always be humble person. So one has to be careful. You are your own destroyer…Through this, you can save yourself and become very glorifies if you are innocent. Have faith in  the power of innocence.

Actually i am that kind of person,i mean my first attraction in everything always been innocence and purity, probably that’s why i am here .In my teen age  i did yoga myself and got all benefits from it,but i did not recognized these then, even though i always felt deeper unconditional enjoyment about my experience. Now i am grown up and whenever i get hurt, depressed, cluttered i remember only those peace of mind, self satisfaction and ask myself why i stopped?

Anyhow thanks for posting, because it made me clear about something i was not certainlaugh.

Hello Shantam,

The mooladhara chakra is associated with the earth element. One good treatment for the mooladhara charka is to the sit on the earth, while praying to Mother Earth to please cleanse the mooladhara chakra. While you do this, you can meditate, with your hands open in your lap, or you can also place your hands palms down on the earth.

Footsoaking is also a very effective treatment for the mooladhara. In case you have not come across this technique, it is as follows: Prepare a bucket of lukewarm water with a handful of salt in it. Keep a small pitcher of regular water and a towel next to it. Sit in a chair and place your feet, up to the ankles in the salt water. Sit in meditation as normal, with your hands open in your lap. After about 10 minutes, rinse your feet off into the bucket. Dry them with the towel. Dump the saltwater into the toilet and rinse it a couple of times. Do not use this bucket for any other purpose. You can also meditate after footsoaking for another 5 minutes or so.

These are a couple of good and simple treatments to start. The affirmations in the first post above are also helpful.
